The AG Typography Institute invited us to take part in the a-Project, a reimagining of the iconic 1985 deconstructed Hangeul font, AG AhnSangSoo, designed by Ahn Sang-Soo. The result is AG Unidot. Starting with its name, this typeface is inspired by the universality of dots to create a common style. It recalls retro digital imagery: lettering produced by dot matrix printers, LED signs and early computer graphics. The result is a typeface with a technical yet playful vibe. Unidot uses a modular dot-based system to maintain a cohesive appearance in both Latin and Hangeul scripts that lasts even when they’re together.
